Over 200 former heads of state, Nobel laureates, AI leaders, researchers, and scientists, and more than 70 AI organizations, have signed “The Global Call for AI Red Lines” initiative, which urgently calls for a global agreement on “clear and verifiable red lines” that AI should never cross, by the end of 2026, warning that AI’s “current trajectory presents unprecedented dangers.”
Signatories include "godfathers of AI” and Turing Award winners, Geoffrey Hinton and Yoshua Bengio, OpenAI co-founder Wojciech Zaremba, Anthropic CISO Jason Clinton, and Google research scientist Ian Goodfellow.
The initiative’s goal is “to prevent large-scale, irreversible risks before they happen,” stating that if nations can’t agree on what they want to do with AI, “they must at least agree on what AI must never do.”
Although it doesn’t specify exactly what these red lines should be, it does give suggestions like not allowing AI to impersonate humans, autonomous replication of AI systems, and the use of AI in nuclear warfare.
Although many AI companies have called for unified safety measures and agreements, research shows that many are prioritizing profit and progress over safety and societal welfare. This is the fundamental reason behind this initiative, as responsible safety policies within companies “fall short of real enforcement” and an independent global institution “with teeth” is needed to define, monitor, and enforce the red lines. Professor of computer science at UC Berkeley, Stuart Russell, believes AI companies “can comply by not building AGI until they know how to make it safe…just like nuclear power developers did not build nuclear plants until they had some idea how to stop them from exploding.”

The AI Report Partner Perspectives Column
Daily Harvest, a meal delivery and food preparation company, serves direct customers and delivers supplies to big-box/grocery retailers.
They were struggling to solve complex logistics (eg. costly dry ice needed for frozen products/perishables) and packaging inefficiencies.
They implemented AI systems that matched products to customers and auto-adjusted dry ice usage based on destination and weather conditions.
As a result, they improved product freshness, reducing customer complaints, and lowered operational costs due to more precise usage of dry ice.
Your customers will not wait days or even hours for a reply.
Your leads vanish when they’re left on hold or met with slow replies.
Unlike traditional chatbots, AI Agents do more than just chat, they handle tasks like showing invoices, booking meetings, making your support autonomous.

NVIDIA is planning to invest £100B into OpenAI and both parties have signed a letter of intent to “deploy at least 10 gigawatts of AI datacenters with NVIDIA systems” to help power OpenAI’s superintelligence plans.
The electricity generated from 10 gigawatts is enough to power over 8M homes, and for OpenAI, this will help to further reduce its dependence on Microsoft, its largest backer and supplier of cloud computing resources.
NVIDIA will now be OpenAI’s “preferred strategic compute and networking partner” and it plans to utilize this partnership to “create AI breakthroughs and empower people and businesses with them at scale.”
Magnum Ice Cream has partnered with NotCO (a leading food-tech company that uses AI to develop products) to pilot its AI platform (Giuseppe AI) and start developing new products with different nutritional profiles.
According to Magnum, the partnership will allow them to “explore how AI tools can help solve complex formulation challenges quicker and more precisely,” while keeping consumer needs central.
Giuseppe AI has been trained on a food properties dataset for a decade, and Magnum hopes it will solve product development challenges in record time, allowing for rapid innovation and expansion into new markets.
