Research from The Josh Bersin Company, the world’s most trusted HR advisory firm, predicts a major shift in enterprise HR operations in 2026, as AI tools evolve from simple assistants into semi-autonomous “agents” and coordinated “superagents” that automate core people processes at scale.
The research firm has identified more than 100 agent applications across HR, grouped into "superagent families," with top use cases spanning employee services, recruiting, coaching, learning & development, and workforce management.
In L&D alone, the study found that 60–70% of work currently done by training and development teams can be automated, marking one of the largest HR transformations in decades.
The firm urges CHROs to take action within the next few months by redefining HR's corporate mission, training teams to build with AI, and executing deployment strategies, warning that the 30% figure represents a role shift, as some positions will disappear while many more emerge.
For enterprise leaders, this signals a near-term shift from experimental AI adoption to operational dependence. HR is positioned as one of the first enterprise functions to feel material workforce and workflow changes from AI, with implications for reskilling, governance, and organizational design. Companies that delay preparation may face talent gaps, fragmented systems, and slower adoption as competitors move faster.

“Most professions do not reward the highest volume of work. They reward the highest impact.”
Case Study
Italy's largest education group, Multiversity S.p.A., needed to support many of its online students around the clock while freeing teaching staff from repetitive admin work.
Pattern: AI drafts answers and completes paperwork autonomously, but humans review sensitive decisions, policy exceptions, and quality-check responses before they reach students or become official records.
Why it matters: Teaching staff reclaimed hours weekly previously spent on admin, redirecting that capacity to high-value activities like curriculum design and student mentoring.
Metric: The chatbot achieved 99% student fulfillment and 99% accuracy as validated by professors.
Steal this: Pick one repetitive task your team answers daily (customer questions, internal requests, documentation). Deploy an AI assistant with human approval required for the first 50 responses. Measure speed weekly and expand authority after validation.

AI News Story
Google has rolled out ransomware detection features to Drive for desktop, automatically pausing cloud syncing the moment malware is spotted and alerting both users and admins.
If an infection is detected, users can restore multiple files to pre-infection versions with a few clicks, avoiding data loss and ransom demands. The feature is currently part of Google Workspace for Education, alongside SecOps integration that forwards activity logs for faster threat detection.
The company is also introducing SynthID media verification in the Gemini app, which lets users see whether images and videos were created by Google AI. Google plans to expand verification to audio files and non-Google models over time.
AI News Story
Apple has been quietly developing an AirTag-sized wearable pin with dual cameras, microphones, and voice capabilities, according to The Information. The device could launch as early as 2027, though development remains in early stages and cancellation is still possible.
The circular disc features a standard lens and wide-angle lens on its front face, three microphones to capture ambient sound, a speaker, a physical button, and magnetic inductive charging similar to Apple Watch. Engineers are racing to compete with OpenAI's first wearable, slated for 2026.
The push comes as Humane's AI Pin sold fewer than 10,000 units before parts of the company were sold to HP for $116M, raising questions about whether the wearable AI market is ready. Apple's pin effort follows recent upheaval in its AI strategy, including a partnership with Google for Gemini integration and plans to replace Siri's interface with a chatbot experience in iOS 27.
