Anthropic released Fable 5, the most capable model it has ever made generally available, alongside Mythos 5, a cybersecurity-focused sibling now in the hands of a small, vetted group of cyberdefenders.
Both models run at $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens, which Anthropic says is less than half the price of the earlier Mythos Preview.
Anthropic says Fable 5 is state-of-the-art on nearly all tested benchmarks -- software engineering, knowledge work, vision, and scientific research -- and that its lead widens the longer and more complex the task. In early testing, Anthropic says Stripe used it to run a codebase-wide migration across a 50-million-line Ruby codebase in a single day.
On Hebbia's benchmark for senior-level financial reasoning, Anthropic reports Fable 5 posted the highest score of any model.
Mythos 5 is the same underlying model with some safeguards lifted, released only to vetted cyberdefenders and infrastructure providers through Project Glasswing in collaboration with the US government. Anthropic claims it has the strongest cybersecurity capabilities of any model in the world.
The price of frontier capability dropped: the most capable Claude yet costs less than half of the prior Mythos generation, which resets the cost math on agent-heavy workflows. Second, the capability itself crossed into day-long autonomous operation -- the same direction JPMorgan is building toward (see today's AI News).
If your vendor's model can now sustain a largely autonomous, codebase-wide migration in a day, your governance, review, and audit controls need to assume that scope, not the minutes-long task scope most AI policies were written for.
The AI Report Podcast
THE BUSINESS BRIEFING: IT & OPERATIONS (powered by Upscaile)
West Monroe, a 2,000+ employee consulting firm where 80% of staff work onsite at client sites, was losing billable hours to IT delays, with software implementations taking 3 to 4 days each.
Tool used: Moveworks, an agentic AI platform that runs inside Microsoft Teams and Slack, connected to ServiceNow, Workday, and Salesforce to automate workflows end-to-end.
Result: 8,000 tickets resolved in year one, plus 4,000 more accelerated. MSP costs cut 40%, saving $1.4M annually. Software implementations dropped from 3 to 4 days to under 30 minutes. Deployed in under 90 days.
The lesson: AI IT support works when it connects directly to the systems that own the data. Moveworks resolved requests at speed because it automated workflows end-to-end across ServiceNow, Workday, and Salesforce -- approvals that previously required human handoffs happened automatically.
Steal this: Pick your single highest-volume IT request category this week (password resets, software access, onboarding tasks). Map every system it touches. That's your integration checklist before you evaluate any AI support tool.
TOGETHER WITH INNOVATING WITH AI
In 2022, this was a $5-15K contract and a month of waiting. Tonight it's an evening on your own laptop.
Find your profitable AI idea and build it tonight. Not "learn the fundamentals." Not "play with prompts." In 60–90 minutes: from "I want to build with AI" to a working thing a real person clicked.
The bottleneck was never ideas or tools — it's the gap between thinking and starting. So we're sharing the loop we run with founders weekly:
→ A Claude skill that scores your idea against the SHIP framework
→ A Claude skill that builds a working prototype in 30–45 minutes
→ A test script that turns it into genuine market signal
THE POLICY CORNER
The EU orders Meta to restore free WhatsApp access for rival AI chatbots.
The European Commission on June 9, 2026, imposed interim measures under its antitrust powers requiring Meta to reinstate WhatsApp Business API access for competing AI chatbot makers at no charge. The order targets Meta's updated terms and conditions, which regulators found blocked third-party AI assistants from the platform while leaving only Meta's own chatbot available.
Meta had attempted to resolve the probe by charging rivals for access; Commission Executive Vice-President Teresa Ribera rejected that approach, stating the fee was "not economically sustainable for competitors." The measure stays in force until June 2029 or until the end of the investigation, which carries no fixed deadline.
Deadline: In effect now.
Risk: Non-compliance exposes Meta to fines of up to 10% of annual global revenue under EU competition law.
Your move: If your AI product relies on WhatsApp for customer reach, confirm with your API provider whether access has been restored -- the order reopens a channel that had been blocked. If you compete in AI assistants, put WhatsApp distribution back on your Q3 roadmap review before that window closes.
