Our Report: OpenAI just reintroduced Browse with Bing, meaning ChatGPT users can scour and summarize resources on the internet without leaving the GPT browser.

• This feature was initially available to Plus users but was banned on July 3, 2023, out of an abundance of caution as the AI model was exhibiting unwanted content on occasion (people were using it to bypass paywalled content).

• This development signifies a move towards more dynamic and updated responses from ChatGPT—differing from its earlier versions—which relied on pre-trained information (before 2021).

• This aligns with OpenAI’s recent announcement that ChatGPT will now be able to have voice conversations with users and interact through images (next generation).

• Packaged together, ChatGPT will now have internet access, an abundance of funding, conversational abilities, and image comprehension features.

Meta has introduced new AI products, including smart glasses capable of answering questions and streaming on Facebook, updated virtual-reality headsets, and a host of new AI chatbots available across WhatsApp, Instagram & Meta.

🤖 Google introduces 300,000 students to AI

Google is granting $10M to youth robotics nonprofits FIRST and RECF to introduce 300,000 students to robotics and AI education.

This funding aims to broaden robotics program access, integrate AI technology in curricula, and foster new student teams across the U.S., especially in states housing Google's facilities, thereby preparing middle schoolers for future tech-centric jobs​

🇫🇷 Mistral makes their first AI model free for everyone

Mistral AI, a French startup, has released its first large language model, Mistral 7B, for free use without restrictions under the Apache 2.0 license (highly permissive with almost no restrictions).

This release includes a downloadable model and aims to support the open generative AI community by providing a high-performing yet cost-effective language model. Whilst it’s currently free, Mistral plans to introduce an Enterprise offering with enhanced capabilities.
