Anthropic's Claude Mythos Preview has become the first AI model to complete a full simulated corporate network attack, according to new evaluations from the UK's AI Security Institute (AISI). The findings, published days after the model's April 7 announcement, suggest AI cyber capabilities have reached a level that requires close attention from security teams worldwide.
In capture-the-flag evaluations, where systems must identify and exploit vulnerabilities to retrieve hidden "flags," Mythos achieved a 73% success rate on expert-level tasks that remained unsolved by any model prior to April 2025.
AISI built a 32-step corporate network attack simulation that takes human professionals roughly 20 hours. Mythos Preview finished it in 3 out of 10 attempts, averaging 22 steps versus 16 for Claude Opus 4.6.
Anthropic's own red team testing found that Claude Mythos Preview can detect and exploit zero-day vulnerabilities across all major operating systems and leading web browsers when explicitly instructed by a user.
The UK's findings reinforce the need for organizations to double down on foundational cybersecurity measures, including regular patching, strict access controls, and comprehensive logging. Reports also indicate that US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell met with major bank CEOs to warn about potential cyber risks linked to this model.
THE BUSINESS BRIEFING: IT & OPERATIONS (powered by Upscaile)
ServiceNow (enterprise ITSM platform, 25,000+ employees) was drowning in repetitive Level 1 help desk tickets—password resets, VPN issues, software access requests—eating L1 capacity and delaying higher-value work. They deployed their Autonomous Workforce bot directly into their live CMDB and ticketing workflows, giving it real-time access to configuration data, policy engines, and historical ticket patterns.
Tool used: ServiceNow Autonomous Workforce—AI agent that executes IT workflows end-to-end, backed by 20 years of structured platform data.
Result: 90% of targeted Level 1 ticket volume handled autonomously. Resolution rates above 99% for common categories (networking, hardware, software access). Faster resolution than human-only workflows.
The lesson: The bot works because it sits on top of structured data—live CMDBs, active workflows, real approval chains—not unstructured documentation. When it doesn't know something, it escalates instead of hallucinating. Trust comes from knowing what it can't do.
Steal this: Audit your ITSM platform's data quality this week. Check if your CMDB is current, workflows are documented in-system (not scattered across Word docs), and approval paths are mapped. Autonomous execution requires clean, structured data as the foundation. Fix the plumbing before adding the bot.
TOGETHER WITH INCOGNI
The BBC caught scam call center workers on hidden cameras as they laughed at the people they were tricking. One worker bragged about making $250k from victims.
The disturbing truth?
Scammers don’t pick phone numbers at random. They buy your data from brokers. Once your data is out there, it’s not just calls. It’s phishing, impersonation, and identity theft.
That’s why we recommend Incogni: They delete your info from the web, monitor and follow up automatically, and continue to erase data as new risks appear.

THE POLICY CORNER
A Massachusetts-based Dunkin' franchise chain violated federal disability law by barring employees from working unless they proved they were fully restriction-free, according to an EEOC consent decree filed April 9, 2026. The operators required doctor's notes confirming zero physical or mental limitations before workers could start, return to, or keep their jobs. Employees with disabilities were placed on unpaid leave, denied accommodations, or fired. The settlement covers The Daly/Kenney Group and 15 affiliated entities operating Dunkin' locations.
Deadline: In effect now. Companies with similar policies must eliminate them immediately.
Your move: Search your employee handbook and return-to-work policies for phrases like "full duty," "no restrictions," or "100% healed." If found, revise within 30 days to allow employees with restrictions to work with reasonable accommodations. Train managers on ADA interactive process requirements and separate medical files from personnel records.
