New code leaks, app modifications, and some cryptic comments from Elon Musk could suggest that the launch of the latest version of his AI chatbot, Grok 3.5, is coming any day now.
Although no one knows what capabilities the new version will deliver, a model selector has been spotted in the iOS app, suggesting users will be able to choose between different versions, depending on their needs.
Users have also noticed, in the code, a possible screen-sharing feature for Grokās voice mode (also on iOS), which could be similar to OpenAIās ChatGPT Voice Mode or Googleās Gemini Live features.
Grok 3 is comparable to rivals (namely, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude) for image generation, research, and everyday use, but falls behind in coding capabilities, so Grok 3.5 could see an improvement in this area.
Musk first announced the arrival of Grok 3.5 back in April, claiming it would excel at "reasoning from first principles (truth)," which suggests it will come with advanced reasoning capabilities and may prioritize accuracy and logical reasoning over quick, surface-level responses. If this is true, it would be a huge step-change for Musk, as he previously touted Grok as an "unfiltered" model that had fewer safety guardrails than other models (even though this has backfired many times) and prioritized speed and conversational ability over accuracy.

Suzanoāa global pulp producerāfaced bottlenecks when accessing real-time insights from its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Manual queries for information took hours, sometimes days to find, which delayed critical supply chain and production decisions.
They built and deployed a Gemini-Pro-powered AI agent to translate natural language queries so they could get real-time, data-driven answers.
As a result, they cut manual data query times by 95%, reducing the time spent on data retrieval from hours to minutes.

Former Meta exec (and ex-UK deputy Prime Minister) Nick Clegg believes that asking artists for permission to use their work to train AI models would be āimplausibleā and could ābasically killā the AI industry.
Instead of asking individual artists for permission, he thinks they should be given the option to opt out if they donāt want their work to be used to train AI models, believing this would work better at scale.
This comes as the UK recently rejected an amendment to the Data Usage Bill (which was supported by Paul McCartney and Elton John), which meant companies had to disclose any copyrighted works used to train AI.
A group of Amazon coders has revealed what itās like developing software for Amazon, now that AI coding tools are being widely utilized, complaining that their jobs more resemble warehouse work.
Amazon CEO, Andy Jassy, told his workforce that AI would āchange the normā and bring big returns if used for "productivity and cost avoidance,ā as itās āessential to give customers what they want as quickly as possible."
But engineers feel that AI has just raised output goals, brought in less forgiving deadlines, halved the workforce (which is expected to deliver the same amount of code), and taken the fun out of coding projects.
