Q&A WITH AI SALES EXPERT JÉRÉMY GRANDILLON
Jérémy: "SDRs search for information on their prospects to make sure their first email or message is relevant and they’re targeting the right people. This requires time and resources, but with the rise of AI, you can do that with tools, instead of having dozens of SDRs.”
Liam: "So, the heavy lifting—like searching LinkedIn for icebreakers or tailoring emails—is all done for you? AI tools essentially take away the manual, laborious tasks and leave you more time to book in calls, and get more talk-time?"
Jérémy: "Exactly. Instead of spray-and-pray methods, AI enables precise targeting with better quality and efficiency. AI models are smarter than they were. You can just type a prompt and it does the research for you: It goes through the website, and finds the relevant output."
Liam: “AI's come a long way, even in just this past year, so how was AI being used in your business at the start of 2024 and how is that different from how it's being used now, at the start of 2025?”
Jérémy: "I’m always trying to find a smarter way to do sales, and I think the multiple tools we use, integrate in a better way than they did before. So I would say the tool providers have made our lives easier, especially in outbound sales. It allows us to focus on the more advanced stuff and create more advanced workflows and processes. What we used to spend two days to build as a system, one year ago, we can now do in half a day. So I would say the quality and the integration have been improved last year.”
Liam: "I think a shift we’re noticing, in general, is that, as part of this consolidation, we’re having to use fewer tools, because the tools that we're currently using are getting better and better. They have more features and more API integrations as well. For example, a year ago you would have to do a ton of Zapier workflows and then connect them all with different apps, which made building out new processes really stressful, but now it’s a lot easier”
Liam: “I’ve noticed on various podcasts you’ve done, on your website, and LinkedIn profile, that you describe sales prospecting as an “allbound” strategy, which uses a combination of email and LinkedIn. How did you come up with that strategy?”
Jérémy: "I’ve been a sales expert for a long time, doing mostly outbound, and have seen and experienced a lot of bad targeting—like cold emails trying to sell me lead generation, which is proof of bad targeting—and saw there was an opportunity to build something that would solve a real problem.”
Jérémy: “You have to be intentional in the kind of content you create, whether it’s for the top, middle, or bottom of the funnel, and LinkedIn is the only platform where you have to put your name behind your content: It's the most real, personal, brand platform, making it the best platform for generating leads. So I knew it was about content and I knew it was about leveraging LinkedIn, I just had to find a way to link the two to create leads, which is where my ‘allbound’ strategy started to make sense: They see you on LinkedIn, they receive an email, and then you continue this multiple times. And at some point, if you are targeting right, it makes sense.”
Jérémy: “If you want to build a community, and you are 100% dedicated to it, you will succeed. It's a real market. But I realized that wasn't what I wanted to do: It’s a lot of effort, especially in the beginning, and it doesn’t make a lot of money. So I decided to pivot to higher tickets, and that’s when I started seeing the AI in outbound, the inbound thing with LinkedIn, and the connection between it: It started to make more sense, so I went for it. No regrets.”
Liam: “I'm reading a book called ‘Quit’ and it talks about this: You have to realize that some projects won't work out and even though it looks as if it's bringing in money every month, it's just not scalable and not worth it for the health of the business. It's knowing what to quit and when to quit and having the confidence and the ability to make those hard decisions when that time comes.”
Jérémy: “I also think patience—not only in sales but in life—is an excellent skill to have, especially in 2025, because you can take your iPhone, click a button, and receive whatever you need in seconds. So of course, if it's that easy, that means that the real value is somewhere else. Patience and determination are super valuable skills if you want more in life and your professional career.”
