Our Report: A landmark agreement on the responsible and secure development of advanced AI technologies, known as the Bletchley Declaration, was reached today at Bletchley Park between 28 countries.
🔑 Key Points:
For the first time, leading AI nations, including the US, EU, and China, convened by the UK, have established a shared understanding of the opportunities and risks of frontier AI, highlighting the need for international cooperation.
The declaration emphasizes the potential for serious harm that could arise from frontier AI, particularly in the areas of cybersecurity, biotechnology, and disinformation, and calls for a collective global effort to manage these risks.
Countries such as Brazil, France, India, and Japan have endorsed the declaration, demonstrating a widespread commitment to AI safety—hopefully leading to more collaboration across borders on safely developing and implementing AI.
Kamala Harris from the US has also announced the introduction of the US AI Safety Institute on the same day (more details below).

LinkedIn (now with over 1B members) has introduced new AI features/tools to assist users in assessing their suitability for job positions based on their profiles.
Their Chief Product Officer said this about the new tools in an interview:
"From what used to be just seeing a job and feeling insecure to being able to make tremendous progress in just one session, all the way towards an interaction"
The U.N. Security Council recently held a meeting in New York to discuss AI, resulting in the formation of a 39-member advisory body to scrutinize existing governance responses to AI across borders, identify gaps, and enhance international coordination.
The advisory body is set to release an interim report by the end of the year and a final one in the following year. We’re hopeful the council actually adds value to the global AI community, rather than just stifling innovation with overly restrictive legislation/out of touch suggestions.
Quora’s Poe, an AI chatbot platform, is introducing a creator economy by paying bot creators (first ever to do this) through 2 methods: a revenue share for leading users to subscribe to Poe, and a per-message fee paid by Quora.
Launched last week, the platform is already showing promise with a significant number of downloads and active users, although its in-app purchase revenue is still growing. We expect other platforms to follow in Quora’s footsteps, allowing you to create and monetize your own chatbots easily in the near future.
