☠️ LinkedIn violates users' private data?

LinkedIn violates users' private data?

🚨 Our Report — LinkedIn is being sued by its US Premium customers for sharing private messages and InMail data with third parties (to train their AI models), and then trying to cover its tracks.

🔓 Key Points:

  • The lawsuit alleges that LinkedIn “quietly” introduced a privacy setting, in August, that gave users the option to opt out of sharing their data with third parties for AI training (meaning they were automatically opted in).

  • But just one month later, it added a clause to its privacy policy to say that users could choose not to share data for AI training, but doing so would “not affect training that has already taken place.”

  • LinkedIn is being accused of trying “to cover its tracks" by retrospectively updating its privacy policy, knowing it had “violated its contractual promises and privacy standards and aimed to minimize public scrutiny."

🔐 Relevance — Although LinkedIn has dismissed the allegations as “false” and “without merit,” the lawsuit is seeking $1,000 per US premium user (the data sharing for AI training option was just enabled in the US) for violating the US Federal Stored Communications Laws, and an unspecified amount for breach of contract under California's unfair competition law.

How to Use Social Signal Intelligence to Secure B2B Deals 3X Faster

Substrata

Complex deals are often affected by office politics, hierarchies, egos, emotions, attitudes, and power dynamics. Using Substrata can significantly increase the chances of securing B2B deals across many industries and categories.

Substrata has developed dozens of specialized AI models to help dealmakers navigate the subtle "social dance" between sellers and prospects:

  • Analyze any prospect's LinkedIn profile to extract their natural personality structure and tendencies

  • Monitor your prospects' fluctuating levels of interest (Signals)

  • Analyze any thread or message to determine real sentiment and relative balance of power

  • Simulate message drafts before sending them to eliminate potential risks or issues

  • Optimize responses, follow-ups, and more

  • Track your and your team's ongoing performance

Substrata uses Social Signal Processing (SSP), a specialized AI domain that deals with the detection, analysis, and synthesis of behavioral data from digitally mediated human-human interactions, such as B2B dealmaking and HR interviews. It encompasses both verbal and nonverbal data

🫢 Musk slams Trumps $500B AI plan

Musk slams Trumps $500B AI plan

🚨 Our Report — Just hours after President Trump announced The Stargate Project—a $500B AI data center venture, led by SoftBank, OpenAI, and Oracle, who will each commit $100B to the project now, and the rest over the next four years—Trumps “Administrator of the Department of Government Efficiency,” Elon Musk, publicly slammed it on social media.

🔓 Key Points:

  • Musk took to his social platform, X, to say “They don’t have the $$$. SoftBank has well under $10B secured. I have that on good authority,” which prompted Altman to fight back with “Wrong, as you surely know.”

  • Altman also invited Musk to “come visit the first site,” and accused him of putting “what’s optimal” for his companies before the good of his country, hoping that in his new role, he’ll “mostly put (country) first.”

  • OpenAI, although one of the world’s highest-valued start-ups, will reportedly face problems if it doesn’t secure funding, and according to the WSJ, Oracle has just $11B and SoftBank $30B, to hand.

🔐 Relevance — While SoftBank confirmed, after Trump's announcement, that it would "begin deploying $100B” straight away, this public clash is mainly between Musk and Altman, with many speculating that it’s all part of their ongoing, long-term feud, which has recently escalated after Musk decided to sue OpenAI for betraying its non-profit, founding mission—to develop AI to benefit the public, not themselves—which was compounded when OpenAI announced they were transitioning into a for-profit model.

📊 Meta x Databricks strategic partnership

  • Meta has joined a $10B funding round for data analytics platform, Databricks, as a ‘Strategic Partner’ after Databricks partnered with them “to give feedback” on how enterprises were using its Large Language Model (LLM).

  • Databricks has its own LLM—DBRX—and while it initially outperformed Meta’s LLM (Llama), Meta has since made some rapid advancements, and this partnership will allow Databricks to leverage Meta’s resources.

  • The $10B funding round—which is considered one of the largest in VC history—will also allow Databricks to expand into international markets, so it can provide its data analytics solutions, worldwide.
