🤯 Microsoft research finds flaws in GPT-4?

🤯 Microsoft research finds flaws in GPT-4?

Our Report: Microsoft-affiliated research has found flaws in GPT-4, highlighting potential issues with the trustworthiness and toxicity of LLMs, such as GPT-4, and its predecessor GPT-3.5 (interesting approach from the company that pretty much owns OpenAI).

🔑 Key Points:

  1. The research found that GPT-4 may be more susceptible to generating toxic and biased text due to its inclination to follow "jailbreaking" prompts that bypass its safety measures.

  2. While GPT-4 is generally considered more trustworthy than GPT-3.5 on standard benchmarks, it can be more vulnerable when faced with maliciously designed instructions.

  3. Microsoft collaborated with the research team to ensure that the vulnerabilities identified do not impact their customer-facing services, including Bing Chat, and ChatGPT.

  4. GPT-4's susceptibility to generating biased content and leaking sensitive data, such as email addresses, is of particular concern—and the OpenAI team is working tirelessly to curb any issues before they come to light.

🤨 Why you should care: This research highlights the need for ongoing vigilance and mitigation measures to ensure responsible usage. Furthermore, props to the Microsoft/OpenAI team for being so transparent in publishing the research.

✅ Brand Voice Guidelines

copy & paste ⬇️

"Create guidelines for maintaining consistency in our brand voice and visual identity across different channels."

Optimized

"Develop a comprehensive set of guidelines and best practices that will serve as a robust framework for ensuring the consistent portrayal of our brand voice and visual identity across a wide array of diverse communication channels and platforms. These guidelines should encompass not only the core elements of our brand identity but also provide clear directives on how to adapt and maintain our brand's unique personality and visual aesthetics, ensuring they remain cohesive and compelling whether we're communicating through social media, print materials, website content, email campaigns, or any other channel we engage with our audience. The objective is to create a unified and memorable brand experience for our target audience, fostering recognition, trust, and loyalty, while also aligning with our strategic goals and values."

p.s. We optimized this using an internal tool that we’ll be making publicly available in the next few weeks…

🍎 42% of Mac users are using AI tools daily

A recent study revealed that Mac users, in particular, are increasingly embracing AI-based applications compared to their Windows-based counterparts, with 42% using AI apps daily.

The study, based on responses from 1,241 Mac users in the U.S., also found that 63% of users believe AI apps offer more benefits compared to non-AI ones and that 44% of Mac app developers have already integrated AI into their web development process.

✏️ 31% of Post Docs use ChatGPT to write papers

According to Nature's Global Survey, around 31% of respondents reported using chatbots to enhance tasks like refining text, coding, and managing research literature.

Although 67% felt AI hadn't significantly impacted their daily work, 43% of chatbot users used them weekly, with 17% relying on them daily. This adoption rate is expected to grow as researchers explore the potential of AI in their work—provided laggard educational systems adopt the technology as it develops.
