Zoom claims their AI isn’t stealing data, T&C’s disagree?

Our Report: Zoom has announced that its AI models will not train on audio, video, or text chats without customer consent, but their terms of service suggest otherwise…

🔑 Key Points:

  • The company is actively marketing new AI-powered features, such as tools to help catch up on missed meetings or assist in composing messages

  • Two specific sections in Zoom’s terms of service, 10.2 and 10.4, discuss how Zoom can handle user data, including granting a perpetual license for purposes like machine learning and AI.

  • A new statement has been added stating that Zoom will not use customer content, including audio, video, or chat, to train its AI models without consent.

Who should we believe?

🤨 Why you should care: This development comes at a time when sneaky data privacy practices from large companies are becoming more commonplace. Stay vigilant out there, everyone!

🌐 Microsoft's Bing Chat to Enter Third-Party Browsers

Microsoft is set to expand Bing Chat to third-party browsers, including mobile devices, to enhance competition across AI platforms.

The launch date for third-party support is currently undisclosed; thus you’ll probably still have the best experience on the Microsoft Edge browser for now. We’re massive fans so this is huge to be able to use Bing in Chrome!
