During Googleās antitrust court case this week, Appleās Senior VP of ServicesāEddy Cueāannounced that Apple is āactively lookingā at bringing AI search features into its Safari web browser, replacing the default Google Search engine, within the year.
Apple is talking to Perplexity, Anthropic, and OpenAI to bring AI search to Safari, but despite its existing OpenAI ChatGPT integration, it needs to make sure it can āswitchā so it secures the very best AI search provider.
While defending its $20B partnership (which makes Google the default search engine on Safari), Cue established that thereās an inevitable shift toward AI search, suggesting Googleās search monopoly will naturally end.
To support his theory that people are naturally gravitating towards AI search and away from traditional search engines, Cue also revealed that last month, searches within Safari dropped for the first time in ā22 years.ā
Appleās shift towards AI search marks a "seismic shift for the industry" and represents a major threat to Google. This was reflected by the sharp drop (7.5%) in Googleās share priceāerasing $150B from its current market valueāwhich came shortly after Cue made his announcement in the courtroom.
The AI consulting market is about to grow by a factor of 8X ā from $6.9B to $54.7B in 2032.
But how does an AI enthusiast become an AI consultant?
How well you answer that question makes the difference between just āhaving AI ideasā and being handsomely compensated for your contribution to an organizationās AI transformation.Ā

French AI startup Mistral AI officially launched a new version of its chatbot, Le Chat, called Le Chat Enterprise, which has been designed specifically for enterprises and corporate users.
Le Chat Enterprise integrates with popular third-party content management systems such as Microsoftās SharePoint and Gmail/Google Drive, etc, and offers tools to help enterprises, like an AI agent builder.
Companies can use Le Chat Enterprise on their own cloud infrastructure without needing Mistral, but Mistral is also now offering its own computing infrastructure, giving another option if users want greater data autonomy.
Mistral launched Le Chat Enterprise as a private preview in February, and the general public release comes as it announced that in the last 100 days, itās ātripledā its business revenue, mainly driven by European demand.
Alongside these announcements, Mistral also revealed it was launching a new AI modelāMistral Medium 3āwhich has been tested by clients in energy, healthcare, and banking. The new model is āfocused on efficiency, without compromising performance,ā and reportedly equals or beats Anthropicās Claude Sonnet 3.7 model and Metaās Llama 4 Maverick on 90% of performance-based benchmarks.
A small team from OpenAI and associates from Elon Muskās Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) have met with the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) to discuss using AI to speed up new drug approvals.
Apparently, they have discussed a project called cderGPT, which likely stands for the Center for Drug Evaluation, who administer and regulates over-the-counter prescription drugs in the US.
Currently, it takes around 10 years to get new drugs to market, and OpenAI and the FDAās project will reportedly aim to accelerate a small portion of that timeline, specifically toward the end.
