Latest in AI
New York state lawmakers have introduced a bill that would impose a moratorium of at least three years on permits tied to the construction and operation of new data centers, as worries over energy demands and environmental impact mount nationwide.
Senator Liz Krueger, who sponsored the bill, described New York as "completely unprepared" for "massive data centers" that are "gunning for New York," urging policymakers to "hit the pause button."
New York is at least the sixth state to weigh such a pause, with similar bills in Georgia, Vermont, Virginia, Maryland, and Oklahoma. More than 230 environmental groups have called for a national moratorium.
The bill arrives amid a bipartisan backlash against AI infrastructure expansion, with Senator Bernie Sanders and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis both raising objections about rising energy bills.
This bipartisan pushback reflects growing resistance to unchecked AI infrastructure expansion. For companies planning data center investments, the regulatory landscape is shifting quickly, and state-by-state permitting battles could delay or derail projects. Business leaders should monitor these proposals closely as they may set precedents for stricter national oversight.

Case Study
Lendi Group, an Australian mortgage platform, had sales associates build AI workflows in one week. AI handles the repetitive call processes; humans manage exceptions and edge cases.
Pattern: Human-led AI upskilling where staff build their own automation. Employees design workflows, AI handles repetitive tasks, humans review outputs.
Why it matters: Non-technical teams can ship production AI in days with targeted training. Generic education programs rarely produce working deployments.
Metric: 10,000+ hours saved across the business from a single one-week pilot. Seven non-technical participants built workflows now running in production.
Steal this: Send one non-technical team member through a hands-on AI builder course. Have them automate one workflow and measure time saved.
TOGETHER WITH INCOGNI
The BBC caught scam call center workers on hidden cameras as they laughed at the people they were tricking. One worker bragged about making $250k from victims.
The disturbing truth?
Scammers don’t pick phone numbers at random. They buy your data from brokers. Once your data is out there, it’s not just calls. It’s phishing, impersonation, and identity theft.
That’s why we recommend Incogni: They delete your info from the web, monitor and follow up automatically, and continue to erase data as new risks appear.

AI News Story
Ahead of the Super Bowl, Anthropic launched a series of ads mocking the idea of targeted advertising in AI chatbots. The campaign depicts absurd, intrusive ad placements in sensitive user conversations, ending with the tagline: "Ads are coming to AI. But not to Claude."
Sam Altman responded on X, calling the ads "so clearly dishonest" and pointing to OpenAI's stated policy that ads will be "separate and clearly labeled" and won't influence ChatGPT's answers. Altman defended the move as a way to bring AI to users who can't afford subscriptions, noting that Anthropic "serves an expensive product to rich people."
The clash exposes a growing rift in how leading AI labs plan to monetize their products. For enterprise buyers, the question isn't just about user experience; it's about whether ad-supported models can maintain the neutrality and trust required for business-critical applications.
AI News Story
Anthropic researcher Nicholas Carlini ran 16 instances of Claude Opus 4.6 on a shared codebase with minimal supervision, and the agents built a 100,000-line C compiler from scratch in two weeks, costing roughly $20,000 in API fees.
The AI-built compiler can compile major open-source projects like PostgreSQL, Redis, and FFmpeg, and achieved a 99% pass rate on GCC's standard torture tests, even booting a Linux kernel on x86, ARM, and RISC-V.
The experiment hit a wall around 100,000 lines of code, where bug fixes frequently broke existing functionality, suggesting current AI agents still have a ceiling for unsupervised software development at scale.
