NVIDIA faces shock China crackdown

🚨 Our Report

China’s internet regulator, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC), has now officially banned Chinese tech companies, including e-commerce giant Alibaba and TikTok owner ByteDance, from purchasing and testing AI chips from NVIDIA.

🔓 Key Points

  • This comes after NVIDIA released the RTX Pro 6000D, a custom chip specifically made for the Chinese market, in July. Several Chinese tech companies have already placed huge orders and begun testing them.

  • NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang is “disappointed” with this decision as he feels NVIDIA “contributed more to the China market than most countries have,” but “will continue to be supportive of the Chinese government as they wish.”

  • Huang was expected to discuss this further with President Trump during a state dinner in London last night, after Trump secured a deal that would allow NVIDIA to export chips to China in exchange for a 15% cut.

🔐 Relevance

The shock ban comes just days after the Chinese government accused NVIDIA of violating its antitrust laws over the acquisition of chip designer Mellanox Technologies (which was initially approved by Beijing). In response to this and the ban, Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson thinks China has “no regard whatsoever for US trademark law or any of the other provisions that make for fair trade agreements” and believes “It is the fault of China” that there are strained relations between the two powerful nations.

Apple’s Starlink Update Sparks Huge Earning Potential

Apple just secretly added Starlink satellite support to iPhones through iOS 18.3.

One of the biggest potential winners? Mode Mobile.

Mode’s EarnPhone already reaches +50M users who have earned over $325M, and that’s before global satellite coverage. With SpaceX eliminating "dead zones" worldwide, Mode's earning technology can now reach billions more in unbanked and rural populations worldwide.

Their global expansion is perfectly timed, and you still have time to invest in their pre-IPO offering before it closes.

With their recent 32,481% revenue growth and newly reserved Nasdaq ticker, Mode is one step closer to a potential IPO.

How KPMG used AI to reduce audit time by 30%

  • KPMG, one of the “Big Four” accounting firms, was manually completing audits which took weeks and were prone to inaccuracies.

  • With regulatory deadlines and rising client expectations, it needed to shorten audit turnaround times while improving accuracy.

  • It rolled out an AI audit assistant that checked documents, flagged anomalies, answered auditor questions, and generated audit narratives.

  • As a result, error detection improved by 25% and audit review time fell by 30% enabling a faster turnaround, allowing for more competitive pricing.

Keep Your SSN Off The Dark Web

Every day, data brokers profit from your sensitive info—phone number, DOB, SSN—selling it to the highest bidder.

What happens then?

Best case: companies target you with ads.

  • During Meta’s annual dev conference, MetaConnect 2025, Meta revealed the “Meta Ray-Ban Display”: Smart glasses that have a built-in display (in the right lens) that’s controlled by a wristband (Meta Neural Band).

  • Due for general release at the end of this month, Zuckerberg says the new smart glasses display allows users to see Meta apps (WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook), directions, and live translations.

  • The wristband picks up on hand movements: Eg. a twist of the fingers will turn the glasses volume up/down, tapping the thumb and forefinger will close the display, and (soon) drawing letters will generate text.

  • Groq, the upcoming AI chip manufacturer that’s expected to rival NVIDIA, has raised $750M in funding, pushing its valuation up to $6.9B, which highlights strong investor confidence in the startup's capabilities.

  • It was originally thought, when rumors about the funding round emerged in July, that Groq would raise $600M at a $6B valuation. This latest valuation shows huge growth after it was valued at just $2.8B in August last year.

  • Groq has specifically developed its products for developers and enterprises, with the likes of Meta, DeepSeek, Google, and OpenAI all using them to improve performance at “significantly less cost than alternatives.”
