Our Report: NVIDIA briefly overtook Amazon in market value on Monday—making it the fourth most valuable US-listed company—fueled by increasing demand for AI chips.
🔑 Key Points:
NVIDIA’s stock value rose by almost 0.2%, reaching a market value of $1.83 trillion, while Amazon's stock value fell by 1.2%, giving it a market capitalization of $1.8 trillion.
This makes NVIDIA the fourth most valuable US tech company, just behind Microsoft ($3.09 trillion), Apple ($2.89 trillion) and Alphabet ($1.84 trillion).
The increase in market value follows a strong start to 2024, with its market capitalization surging by $600B since January, nearly 50% more than it gained during the last 7 months of 2023.

CHATGPT
Microsoft has hinted that ChatGPT-5 could have the power to decode a 3,000-year-old language (called Linear A), which was used by the Minoan civilization in Crete during 1800-1450 BC.
Previously undeciphered, Linear A is one of the biggest linguistic mysteries, and if ChatGPT-5 can translate it, it will offer insights into the Minoan civilization, language, and culture.
Microsoft suggested that ChatGPT-5 would understand the intricacies of the Linear A script and have contextual knowledge of the Minoan world to interpret the decoded text.
This peek into ChatGPT-5’s potential comes after Musk agreed to contribute “whatever amount is useful” to build the AI tech needed to decrypt 2000-year-old Ancient Roman scrolls.
VALUATIONS
Within a week, chip designer Arm, has seen its stock market value almost double, with shares rising by 29.3%, taking its gains to over 90% since its financial results report on 7th February.
Its chips run AI on almost every smartphone in the world, but this soar market value came after it pledged to venture into new AI applications, driven by SoftBank founder Masayoshi Son.
SoftBank acquired Arm in 2016 for $32B, but Arm has now surpassed its market value by $68B after falling investment valuations hit SoftBank.
AI TRAVEL
Travel startup Layla (backed by M13 and co-founders of booking.com, Skyscanner, and Lastminute.com) has acquired the AI-powered itinerary-building bot ‘Roam Around.’
Layla currently uses short-form travel videos and AI-driven language models to help users discover destinations and book trips, including flights and hotels.
Integrating Roam Around’s AI-powered itinerary-building technology will enable Layla to provide users with improved itinerary data and solidify Layla's position as a leader in AI travel.
