  3. Implement identity verification and deepfake controls: Particularly for asynchronous interviews, deploy verification mechanisms and require human review where anomalies appear. Train recruiters to spot synthetic or manipulated content.
  4. Audit tools for bias and signal reliance: Regularly assess whether systems rely on speech patterns, accents, tone, facial expressions, or eye contact in ways that could disadvantage candidates with disabilities, neurodivergent traits, or culturally distinct communication styles. Offer alternative formats to ensure evaluation centers on job-related skills.
  5. Adopt balanced, transparent policies on candidate AI use: Blanket bans can create reputational blowback. Clearly define what is acceptable, such as accessibility tools or preparation support, and what is not, such as real-time response generation intended to misrepresent abilities.
